I’ll admit it. I’m a complete book geek!

There’s nothing on my Amazon wish list but business and marketing books (yes, really).

I love buying and receiving books, and I just love to read around my specialist subject and similar topics.

Although I have 15 years of experience, on top of an honours degree in Communications and PR, my thinking is that there’s always more to learn. And, books are one of my favourite go-to resources (I spend way to much time looking at a screen, so reading is a welcome relief for the eyes).

Which is why in this blog, I’m listing out some of the books that I’ve personally read and loved, and think you will too. If you’re keen to learn more about marketing and are a fellow book-lover, then I hope the following list is helpful and gives you a steer in the direction of some great learning resources.

Perhaps something to add to your own Amazon wish list? 🙂

My (current) top 5 business and marketing books

Freelance to Freedom by Vincent Pugliese

This book is a “roadmap for creating a side business to achieve financial time and life freedom”.

It’s the inspirational story of how the author, photographer Vincent Pugliese, developed a freelance photography business that rewarded him in so many more ways than he could have ever imagined.

They Ask, You Answer by Marcus Sheridan

If you’re interested in content marketing, this is one book you need to read.

Marcus Sheridan is the former ‘pool guy’, who rescued his swimming pool installation business from the brink of collapse in 2008 by taking a revolutionary approach to inbound sales and marketing.

By creating marketing content that seeks to answer his customer’s questions, Marcus was able to “turn customers into evangelists, to drive sales and growth.”

This book sets out exactly how you can develop content ideas for your own business and is a compelling case study of what’s possible if you commit to serving your customers with the content that they want and need.

How to Get to the Top of Google by Tim Cameron-Kitchen

Ah, getting to the top of Google! That one thing that everyone in business is striving for.

If you’re keen to learn more about SEO (search engine optimisation) and how you can boost your web traffic, ranking in Google and your company profits, then I highly recommend this book.

It’s packed full of useful information and practical tips about how to improve your website and content. What can be quite a dry subject is brought to life in an easily-digestible format which I think you’ll find incredibly helpful.
